Four Treston research papers accepted in 2024 APacCHRIE Conference in South Korea!

Treston International College is very proud to announce that four research papers from the faculty members, students, and alumni of Treston’s School of Culinary, Hospitality, and Tourism (SCHT) were chosen to be presented at the prestigious 2024 Asia-Pacific Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education (APacCHRIE) Conference that will be held in Seoul, South Korea on May 24-26, 2024.

 

Hospitality Management students Patrick Rodriguez and Via Bianca Añano; Tourism Management students Jodel Angelo Cortes, Gian Carlo Espinosa, Mary Roanne Ambion, and Aubrey Balgos; Culinary Management alumni Angel Morcilla and Patrick Allen Catubig; together with SCHT Program Chair, Jazzy Buela and Research Director, Dr. Francis Tolentino will head to South Korea to present their research papers with the titles:

 

– “Adoption of Green Practices in DOT-Accredited Restaurants in CALABARZON (Region 4A)”;
– “Operational Assessment and Management Challenges in Philippine Agritourism: A Conceptual Framework”;
– “Sustainable Farm-to-Table Dining as a Travel Motivator in the Philippines”; and
– “Tourism Marketing Destination Development Plan for Tuguegarao City, Philippines”

 

The papers focused on various tourism development efforts and the challenges the country encounters in promoting eco-friendly and sustainable practices.

 

This year’s APacCHRIE Conference is hosted by Yonsei University and Hong Kong Polytechnic University with the theme, “Reshaping, Innovation, and Opportunity in Hospitality and Tourism.”

 

The APacCHRIE Conference is held annually by the leading hospitality and tourism education association within the Asia-Pacific Region. It provides a forum for meaningful discussions to develop strategies for the progress of the hospitality and tourism education and industry.
